Muita emoção marcou o 70º Emmy Awards! O Oscar ganhou um Emmy! Teve pedido de casamento. Foi a edição com a lista de indicados com maior diversidade da história da premiação. E teve muita produção geek entre os grandes premiados da noite!
Game of Thrones e Westworld, como já era esperado, foram alguns dos grandes destaques desta edição. As séries, que já lideravam as indicações com 22 e 21 nomeações respectivamente, garantiram prêmios como Melhor Ator Coadjuvante em Série de Drama, para Peter Dinklage, e Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante em Série de Drama, para Thandie Newton.
O 70º Emmy Awards
Com apresentação de Colin Jost e Michael Che (Saturday Night Live), o Emmy 2018 ficou marcado por discursos de representatividade e despedidas de alguns atores e atrizes de suas séries, a exemplo de Claire Foy, que deixa o elenco de The Crown com seu Emmy em mãos, e Tatiana Maslany, que se despede de Orphan Black.
The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story e The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel foram algumas das grandes vencedoras da noite. Game of Thrones levou vários dos Emmys técnicos a que estava indicado, além de conquistar o de Melhor Ator Coadjuvante em Série de Drama e de Melhor Série de Drama.
Pela primeira vez também na história da premiação, o serviço a Netflix superou o número de nomeações da HBO, 112 para o streaming e 108 para o canal fechado, marcando um novo momento para a televisão.
Entre os nomeados e os vencedores, estão várias produções do universo geek, que, a exemplo das séries já citadas acima, estão recebendo investimentos cada vez maiores e entregando super produções aos fãs.
